Delvin Friendship Club held their Annual General Meeting on Monday 10th March. The key points were as follows:

1. Chairperson Alice Reilly thanked everyone from members, helpers, the committee, FAS workers – and all the people who have helped make the club such a success
2. There was a vote of sympathy for members deceased in the last year.
3. The following officers were elected:
• Chairperson – Alice Reilly
• Vice Chairperson – Jenny Murtagh
• Secretary – Mary B Smyth
• Assistant Secretary – Margaret O’Shaughnessy
• Treasurer – Kathleen Gilroy
• Assistant Treasurer – Margaret Burke
• PRO – Bernie Holmes-Kelly
4. Sadly the committee will be losing two members as they have announced their retirement from the committee. We wish Mrs Ursula King and Mrs Terry McGrath all the best in their retirement and sincerely thank them for all their tremendous work and commitment to the Delvin Friendship Club.
5. The club’s next get together will be its 18th Birthday Party on the 27th March in St Patrick’s Hall, Delvin. We will start with Mass by Fr. Heaney at 11am and this will be followed by dinner and music by Matt Leavy. Raffles and fun to be had. The committee are looking forward to seeing all members old and new.
