John Paul McQuaid suffered very serious injuries when he was struck by a car while holidaying in Portugal earlier this year. As a direct result of an accident that could have involved any one of us, John Paul was placed in an induced coma for several weeks while the Portuguese medical staff worked hard to stabilise him. Thankfully, at the time of publishing, John Paul is making good progress, but he has a very long and painful battle ahead.
