Westmeath County Council will close a section of the N52 between the L-1015 junction at Cloughan and the L-57231 junction at Killynon (Cooke) with effect from Monday 13th March. It is expected that the realignment works on this section of the road will take approximately 3 months to complete and that the road will reopen at 6pm on Monday 12th June 2017.
The following diversions will be in place…
Southbound (Delvin to Mullingar)
Traffic wishing to travel southwest on the N52 towards Mullingar should travel west on the R395 from Delvin through Collinstown to Castlepollard then proceed south along the R394 from Castlepollard to Mullingar.
Northbound (Mullingar to Delvin)
Traffic travelling north on the N52 should not exit the N4/N52 at Junction 16 (N52 Dundalk / Delvin / Mullingar Centre), but should continue on the N4 west-bound exiting at Junction 17 (R394 Castlepollard / Mullingar West) and proceeding north along the R394 to Castlepollard, then follow the R395 east-bound through Collinstown rejoining the N52 in Delvin.
A local diversion utilising Local Roads L-1501 and L-1015 via Killucan will be in place to facilitate local traffic. Diversion routes will be signposted and local access will be provided.
