Sean and Breege McCormack opened their hardware and grocery store on Main Street, Delvin in 1966.
Over the course of 35 years they steadily developed a thriving business before handing the reins over to their son John in 2001. Under the watchful eye of his father, John has continued to grow the store and while the shop may look completely different from when the door first opened, McCormack’s remains a family business focused on providing great customer service and competitively priced goods.
To mark their 50th Anniversary, McCormack’s will host a special celebration sale day this Friday, the 25th November from 9am. John stresses that this is day for the community and that no purchase is necessary.
David Smyth Catering will be in store in the morning serving breakfast rolls, tea and coffee. A colour consultant from Dulux will also be attending from 11am – 3pm, offering free advice on interior colours. Special offers and spot prizes are also part and parcel of the day’s celebrations, which will culminate in a visit from Santa from 3pm.
