Light Up Delvin For Christmas

Delvin Christmas Lights

Due to low funds and reduced contributions, there will be no Christmas lights along the buildings on Main Street this year. Unfortunately the lights and cables are worn and need replacing as they would now be considered a fire hazard!

However, a number of Christmas Trees will instead be erected around the Village during December, along with the Christmas Nativity Scene. An event will be organised to mark the “switch on” and Santa will again be making an appearance.

The Lights Committee will continue their work to raise funds and hope that they will be in a position to light up both sides of the street again soon. In the meantime, they would encourage all businesses and residents in the town to light up their premises during the month of December.

A meeting will take place in the Blue Hackle at 9pm on Thursday 14th of November. The committee would urge anyone who has an interest to attend, and would encourage local businesses to join them. Please contact Barney on 086 074 0876 with any enquiries.
