Inspiration Taekwon-Do Awards 2012Inspiration Taekwon-Do held their first awards night on Friday 30th November at the Isaacs Well in Clonmellon and the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement.

The club has been going for little over a year and it already has members in Clonmellon, Delvin, Edgeworthstown and Kells. Inspiration Taekwon-Do is run by Rodney Connolly and his two children Carrie-lee and Bryan. The club has grown from strength to strength and has also competed and done very well in several All Ireland international events.

The ceremony saw Mr Connolly present awards to several of the students for recognition for their hard work and dedication throughout the year. Awards were presented as follows:

  • Miss Aoife Kane – Edgeworthstown student of the year
  • Miss Carrie-lee Mahon – Competitor of the year
  • Simon Quinn (Delvin) – Elder Lemon of the year
  • Gavin O’Sullivan and Eimear Sherwin share Delvin joint Student of the year
  • James McKenna was presented with Clonmellon Taekwon-Do Kids Student of the year and Mr. Connolly mentioned that James was his first ever Taekwondo-Kids student
  • Miss Niamh Reddington was presented with Clonmellon student of the year and finally Shane Doyle was presented with the award for overall student of the year

After the awards were presented and the chicken & chips were consumed, the Disco began – and went on until 12:30am!

The kids had an absolute ball and the evening went off without a glitch. We are already looking forward to the next one!
