The sight of St Mary's Church may well be enough to inspire some creative tales of troubled spirits, but some well respected locals claim that the imposing, ruined tower really is haunted. Shapes have reportedly been seen
looking out through the broken shutters of this forlorn, abandoned structure over the years.
In recent times, a man dressed in full druid costume was spotted wandering the ruins of the church before silently walking out towards Mullingar and disappearing in to the night.
