Congratulations to Hazel Revington-Cross and Dave O’Shea on the official opening of “The Garden Gallery“.
The gallery features the work of local and national artists with something to suit every taste and pocket – all presented in the unpretentious and welcoming surroundings of the Garden Centre in Crowenstown.
The gallery was officially opened by Graham Knuttel – one of Ireland’s top artists – at a special gathering held on Saturday 23rd of October.
In his opening speech, Graham commented on the “terrible time” facing the country at the moment and praised Hazel and David for their decision to open the gallery during a recession.
Aside from a selection of Graham Knuttel’s own work, the gallery features pieces by Kevin Sharkey, Cormac O’Leary, Lorna Miller, Con Campbell, Count Jonathan Von Baumann, Aimee Gillen, Emma Noonan, Mary McEvoy, Elaine Clyne, Brendan Leavy, Mary Moore and others. The opening night also saw the launch of the new 2010 exhibition by Hazel Revington-Cross entitled “Hand In Hand With My Father”.
Earlier that afternoon, visitors attending the popular open event browsed the collection and enjoyed poetry readings by actress Mary Mc Evoy.
The Garden Gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am until 6pm. A gift shop is also available with plenty of ideas in store for Christmas.
