DRB Wind Action Group Community Meeting

Published on behalf of The Delvin Raharney Ballivor (DRB) Wind Action Group

The Delvin Raharney Ballivor (DRB) Wind Action Group will host a Community Meeting on the 23rd of October at 3pm at ST PATRICK’S HALL (NEW VENUE).

The meeting will discuss the recently submitted planning application to An Bord Pleanala by Bracklyn Windfarm Limited for the construction of a 9 Turbine Wind Farm, associated roads, cabling, and local landscape changes in and around the Townlands of Ballagh, Billistown, Ballinacor, Bracklyn, Co Westmeath and Coolronan and Ballivor Co Meath.

Weather dependent, a blimp will be flown on the day at the proposed turbine height of 185 metres.

We would encourage the community to attend this important meeting so we can share information, opinions, and next steps regarding the proposed development.

The DRB Wind Action Group is strongly of the opinion that the national renewable energy strategy is seriously flawed, there is already enough wind energy developed in Ireland, and the Delvin-Raharney-Ballivor -Coolronan region is certainly not an appropriate landscape for industrialisation with enormous wind turbines.
