The 2014 Delvin St Patrick’s Parade will take place on Sunday 16th March at 3pm. Behind the scenes, organisers have been busy for weeks making arrangements but now it’s time to get everyone involved!
Michael Leonard
This year’s main sponsors are Michael and Olive Leonard. True to form, Michael has been a very “hands on” sponsor and has come up with some very inventive ways to raise funds for the parade, generate enthusiasm and get people involved.
Buy The Postcard!
A special, limited edition souvenir post card is available! Available for just €2 at Delvin Post Office, use the card to invite friends and family to the 2014 parade. Proceeds will go to parade funds.
Merchandise
Hats, wigs and all manner of Paddy’s Day goodies are now available from Michael Leonard! Costing no more than €3 each, why go anywhere else? Again, proceeds will go towards funding your local parade!
Competition
Win an Aynsley Fine Bone China Plate! We have given the Donkey on the fundraising postcard mentioned above, a name – but can you guess what it is? Here is a clue: it is a well known Irish product associated with St Patricks Day. To enter, just visit the Facebook Page.
Find The Parade On Facebook
Michael has created a special page on Facebook to promote the parade. Co-administered by DelvinVillage.Com, like and share the page with your friends and relatives. You can also add photos and memories of past parades. Join the page here!
Enter The Draw
Win up to €250 cash in the annual St Patrick’s Parade Draw! Entry is just €2 per line and draw cards have been left with all your local businesses.

3rd Prize – €50 (sponsored by Colin Walsh Electrical)
Put Out Your Flags
The Committee will get to work this weekend, putting up a series of flags all along the Main Street. If you have a flag that you’d like put up, by all means – contact me via the website or let Michael Leonard know. Why not put up a flag outside your home too?
Dress Up Your Windows!
Local businesses are encouraged to support the parade by dressing up their shop windows.
Entertain The Crowds
The committee URGENTLY want to hear from would-be entertainers in our midst! The best parades always feature colour, comedy and music. So if you have an idea, why not bring it to the 2014 Delvin St Patrick’s Parade? It only costs €20 to enter a “float” or sketch and it is a great way to be seen, to raise awareness of a business, club or cause – or to just have a laugh with friends. Entry forms are available from Michael Leonard and McCormack’s Stores.
Watch The Video
A short montage of previous parades has been created and is available on Youtube!
