Division 7 League (2015)

Delvin v Miltown
Delvin’s Junior Footballers took on Miltown in another of last year’s unfinished league games in Delvin on Saturday the 12th of March. And it was the Delvin men who claimed their third successive set of points after a hard fought one point win over a strong Miltown team.

Delvin made a flying start in the opening minutes when Conor Mullally followed in a high ball into the Miltown square and punched to the net. This was quickly followed up with a point from Delvin full forward Darragh Clinton to leave Delvin 1-01 to no score in front.

But Miltown soon found their rhythm and kicked a string of fine points to lead by two points at the break on a score of 0-07 to 1-02.

The second half was a lively affair with some fine free flowing football. Both teams swapped points until Delvin struck a decisive blow with a goal from Dean Poynton.

Good performances from Conor Ward, Killian Murphy, Eoin Carolan, Darragh Clinton and John Cogan seen Delvin over the line on a score of Delvin 2-10 Miltown 0-15.
