Delvin Friendship Club held a monster auction last Sunday (26th May) in St Patrick’s Hall to raise funds for the club. This fundraiser was inspired by Eugene and Ann Moore of Delvin and the Committee are more then happy to say it was a great success raising approx €3,100 after expenses.
Chairperson, Alice Reilly, wishes to express on behalf of the Committee, huge thanks to some very special people, without whose commitment and support, this auction would not have been such a success.
The Committee wish to offer their heartfelt thanks to Eugene and Ann Moore for their enormous hard work in getting this auction off the ground. Their unfailing support for the club through out the years and their work up to an including last Sunday, is a shining example of community spirit. Another person that the Committee wish to offer huge thanks to is Bernie Ivory – our Auctioneer for the day – for his time and expertise. He didn’t put the microphone down until everything was sold.
Alice and Committee also wish to extend their thanks to everyone who helped from Committee, non-Committee, members of the Club, families, helpers, drivers, buyers, well wishers, supporters and everyone who donated items for auction.
The Committee wish everyone a safe and happy summer ahead.
