Delvin Beaver Scouts Visit Mullingar Garda Station

Delvin’s beaver Scouts were given a rare opportunity when they were invited to visit the Garda Station in Mullingar on Friday 22nd of April.

Twenty-one beavers and five leaders made the trip to Mullingar and under the guidance of the Community Gardai, Tom, Niall and Scott, were given a complete tour of the station, this included seeing the communications room, the cells and also got to examine the cars, motor bikes and mountain bikes. This was followed by a questions and answers session and our Beavers had any amount of questions but credit must go to the Boys in Blue as they had all the answers even to those questions that were questionable to start with.

The Beavers had a great evening and were even rewarded by the Gardai at the end of the tour when everyone was given a special bag, pen and drinks bottle. The Delvin cubs were treated to a similar evening on Wed the 20th of April.

Delvin Scout Group would like to express a special thanks to the Delvin and Mullingar Gardai who made the visit possible.
