Community Consultation on Proposed Ballivor Wind Farm Project

From Westmeath County Council.

Dear Public Participation Network Member Group,

We are writing to provide your organisation with information on the proposed Ballivor Wind Farm to be located within the Ballivor Bog Group in Counties Meath & Westmeath. This Bog Group consists of the following bogs: Ballivor, Bracklin, Carranstown, Lisclogher and Lisclogher West.

The Code of Practice for Wind Energy Development in Ireland requests that all community organisations local to the development should be provided with the same information material as local residents. As the company does not have a database of community groups in the vicinity of the proposed project we have liaised with Westmeath Public Participation Network (PPN) to determine the most suitable way to contact you with information on the project. Due to Data Protection, Westmeath PPN have not shared your information with us, but have agreed to receive copies of our information material and circulate to you, on our behalf (hence this email)

Therefore please find attached a letter and map providing details on the project which is currently been circulated to each household in the vicinity of the proposed wind farm.

Along with details of proposed three Community Information Sessions as follows:

  • Tuesday 10th March: 5-9 pm – Ballivor Community Centre, Mullingar Rd, Ballivor
  • Wednesday 11th March: 5-9 pm – Raharney GAA Clubhouse, Raharney
  • Thursday 12th March: 5-9 pm – St. Patricks Hall, Main Street, Delvin
