The Delvin Website will celebrate its tenth anniversary later this year. To ensure that the website is ready for the next decade, a few significant changes will be implemented over the next few months and I thank you in advance for your patience while these are carried out.
New Server Network – Completed 🙂
Following a full review of hosting requirements, the website will be transferred to a new hosting company during the next few days. While running costs will increase slightly, the new service will offer additional security features and extra space for hosting photo archives and much more. Visitors to the website may notice some downtime during the transfer but efforts will be made to keep this to a minimum.
New Look – Pending
The average user profile and the way they use the website has changed a great deal over the last ten years. Most people in and around the village now have access to stable broadband – that’s a massive improvement on 2009! The website has always been kept simple and used a basic colour scheme. While ease of use is a driving force behind the new design, I’ve decided to be bolder in how the site should look in the future. The new look will have a smarter layout – one which should appeal to locals and visitors alike. Again, this may involve some downtime but (again) I thank you in advance for your patience.
Finally, many thanks for all the support over the last 9.5 years. I hope you find the website useful and I hope you will see the benefits of the changes that are coming.
