POD Festivals will host a concert featuring Carl Cox & special guests on Saturday 25th August. A public meeting took place on Tuesday 14th August to brief residents on the arrangements and the key points were as follows.
The Event
- This is a ONE DAY EVENT
- Capacity will be 10,000
- The event is expected to sell out – there are approx 200 tickets remaining as at August 14
- No overnight camping will be permitted on site
Demographic
- The majority of those attending will be in the 20-50 age bracket
- This event is not expected to appeal to teenagers
Traffic
- Care will be taken to ensure that access routes are clearly signposted – signs and electronic boards will be in use
- Signs will also be utilised to slow traffic down on approach roads to help protect local traffic and pedestrians
- Most of the visitors will arrive by bus
- Approx 3,000 cars are expected
- Event crew will be ready to accommodate traffic on the site by noon on the day of the event
- The heaviest traffic is expected between 4pm & 7pm
- LAST ADMISSION IS AT 9.45PM
- Traffic will follow the same access routes as used by Body&Soul
- Cars & small minibuses will access the site via gate C on the Crowenstown road
- Larger buses will access the site via gate B
- Traffic is expected to leave the site from 11.30pm
- Weather permitting, the site should be cleared by 1am
Music
- A sound check will be carried out on Friday 24th sometime between 4pm & 7pm but it will NOT last the full three hours!
- Some noise may be audible from the site from 10am on the 25th
- The show itself will start at 3.30pm
- Carl Cox will be on-stage from 8.30pm – 11.30pm
- A local act will close the event
- Music ends at midnight
- Noise levels will be monitored throughout
Security & Other Considerations
- An Garda Síochána will have additional resources to help manage traffic and to respond promptly to any issues should they arise
- Event security (including guard dogs) will monitor the event site and its environs throughout the event and will continue their patrols until the following day
- Event attendees will NOT be allowed to bring alcohol in with them
- Glass will NOT be permitted on-site
- Camping will be forbidden and camp fires, barbecues etc will not be permitted
- The onsite bar will close at 10pm to help the event wind down naturally
- An experienced cleaning contractor will patrol the site and the local area to ensure that any event related litter is removed and the area is left as it was found

In the unlikely event that you are unfortunate enough to witness or experience anti-social behaviour of any description, please call 086 858 3049 or 999 immediately. Extra Garda resource will be deployed to oversee traffic and other matters and support will be available should anything go wrong.
