A public meeting was held in Killucan on Wednesday 20th February to brief residents and other interested parties on the ongoing campaign to reopen the station in Killucan.
Last night over 50 people attended our Public Meeting regarding the reopening of the Killucan Train Station. A history of the campaign was given and a leaflet with all information was handed out – this will be added to Facebook Page shortly.
It was decided that we should setup a Facebook Page (thanks Billy for doing that) and a WhatsApp group for updates. Should you wish to be added to our WhatsApp group please forward your details to Becky on 087 677 8270.
Next Steps A meeting has been arranged with Jim Meade, CEO of Irish Rail and a separate meeting with the Westmeath County Manger to discuss our present situation and what is required by both parties to move forward. Once both meetings have taken place, a strategy – created by the community – will be put in place for our campaign.
