This is an archived item. Photos and other images have now been removed. On Friday evening, twenty-five cubs along with six leaders, left Delvin for Portlick, Glasson, Athlone.
This was the first County camp that the cubs have taken part in and, funny enough, it was called “Camp Mud 2011”. There was relief when the camp did not live up to its name but instead the conditions provided for a great weekend where activities of every nature were enjoyed.
As part of the weekend, the Cubs took part in kayaking, archery, climbing, crate stacking and an obstacle course which featured the ever popular zip wire.
The Delvin cubs were not alone as they were joined by 150 cubs from throughout the County. This led to the begining of new friendships as the cubs mixed with each other throughout the weekend – both in the activities and also the Saturday night disco that brought the weekend to a finish.
