The Delvin Sports and Leisure Centre will be one of the largest projects ever undertaken in the area, funded almost entirely by the donations made by the local community.

The plan is to provide Delvin with a state of the art sports and leisure centre with multipurpose pitches, an indoor sports hall, a fully equipped gym, drama studio and much more on ten acres of former grazing land just outside the village.

The site has been furnished with basic changing and toilet facilities so that local sports groups can begin to use the ground for its new purpose, and a floodlit walking track was officially opened at a well attended ceremony on the 7th September 2009. The foundations for the main centre building will be laid shortly and work will commence to make Delvin’s dream centre a reality – a fantastic achievement given that the main work is starting during a recession!
