Delvin Book Fair 2011

The 2nd Delvin (“Garradrimna”) Book Fair will take place on Sunday 1st May from 12 noon until 6pm at Delvin Cattle Mart.

Expect thousands of books across every imaginable genre priced from just €1 each with lots of special offers and bargains to be found.

Celebrity guests including Eamonn Lawlor, Mary McEvoy and Manchán Magan will give special readings during the day, and there will be live music courtesy of local duo “Bracklyn“.

Add in plenty of children’s activities, an art exhibition organised by Hazel Revington Cross plus craft and food stalls – and you have all you need for a great day out!

All proceeds will go towards the Delvin Sports & Leisure Centre (DSLC) project.

Eamonn Lawlor
Eamonn is a Delvin native and a well known voice on Lyric FM. Before joining Lyric, Eamonn was one of Ireland’s leading news and current affairs broadcasters. He was RTÉ’s European Correspondent for ten years and presented ‘Six One’ and ‘Prime Time’ on RTE One.

Mary McEvoy
Mary is a well known Delvin personality and is recognised by millions for her former role as Biddy McDermott in Glenroe. Mary is still a prominent and well respected star of stage and screen and in April 2011 she released her autobiography “How The Light Get’s In”.

Manchán Magan
Manchán Magan is a journalist, author, playwright, travel writer and television presenter. He has made over 30 travel documentaries focusing on issues of world culture and globalization, and in 2010 presented ‘Cé a Chónaigh i mo Theachsa?’ on TG4.
